Arcane Artefacts
One-of-one creations infused with story, presence and power.
These works are sculpted, cast, carved, layered — charged with light, depth and texture.
Every artefact is a singular creation: no repeats, no duplicates, no second version.
Using polymer sculpting, inlaid stones, epoxied windows, glowing pigments, metal leaf, ritual binding and multi-material surfaces, each piece becomes a physical embodiment of a narrative.
These are not journals.
They are artefacts — made to be witnessed, held, kept, protected.
Each artefact below holds a story, a presence and a singular design that will never be recreated.
The Nocturne Moth Tome
The Nocturne Moth Tome
2024 – Sold
A handbound nocturnal artefact crafted from reclaimed leather, lunar symbols, and a found moth given new life within its pages.
Bound in soft, time-worn leather with a velvet touch, this square journal carries the quiet gravity of an object discovered rather than made. The cover centres a hand-cast triangular window of gently frosted resin, cradling a naturally found moth—preserved, honoured, and set beneath a veil of fern-printed parchment. Around it, the waxing and waning phases of the moon rise in gilded texture, echoing the quiet rhythm of night.
The boards—pressed bookbinder’s wood-composite, dense and resilient—allow the metal corner protectors to be properly nailed, each one set into place by hand. A subtle embossed Triskele marks the back: a symbol of cycles, return, and hidden wisdom.
Inside, the journal opens to black nocturnal artisan papers used as endpapers, followed by a block of warm brown sketching paper with torn, deckled edges for a deliberately raw, natural finish. The hand-sewn endbands carry the colours of the moth itself—black, brown, and soft cream—binding creature and artefact into one coherent whole.
The spine is hollow-backed for flexibility, reinforced with riveted leather detailing that adds both structure and character. Despite its compact shape, the tome feels substantial in the hand—solid, quiet, and strangely alive, like something crafted for dusk rituals and midnight thoughts.
The Light Dragon Tome – 2023 – Private
Verdant Sentinel – The First Arcana
2023 – Private Collection
Crafted as a singular keeper’s tome, The Light Dragon stands as one of the atelier’s most iconic works — a luminous white volume crowned by a sculpted dragon in spiral motion, its wings folded like soft feathers around a radiant sapphire glass stone.
The central panel forms an oval cradle of gold leaf and shimmering embellishments: blue glass cabochons, small freshwater mother-of-pearl pieces, and hand-shaped gilded filigree set into a raised ornamental frame. Within this halo, the dragon coils protectively, its eyes made of tiny glass beads that catch and reflect even the faintest light.
The tome is bound in soft white faux leather, chosen specifically for the contrast between purity and opulence. Each corner bears a recessed golden ornament set with deep blue epoxy stones, echoing the central gem. Along the spine, a gilded feather charm and a matching blue stone serve as a subtle accent, complementing the large, wide ribbon bookmark in royal blue silk.
The reverse cover mirrors the front — a smooth, porcelain-like surface bordered with delicate gold filigree, left intentionally open and reflective like a ceremonial mirror. Inside, pearlescent endpapers frame the writing block, filled with a heavier-grade blank paper suitable for ink, brush, or ritual work.
A completely hand-bound tome, constructed with traditional bookbinding techniques and ornamental sculpture work — designed as a radiant artefact rather than a simple journal.

Verdant Sentinel – The First Arcana
Verdant Sentinel – The First Arcana
2019 – Private Collection
Sculpted from layered wooden boards and bound on raised cords, the Verdant Sentinel marks the first true creation of the Arcane Atelier. Its twin carved panels form a quiet architectural relief, centred around a glass cabochon backed with luminous pigment that glows softly in darkness — a steady green watchlight.
The book is sewn on cords that pass directly through the boards, anchored in drilled channels within the wood. A hollow spine wrapped in fine goatskin allows the tome to open with ease. Hand-forged brass corners and brass nails secure the structure; each was cut, shaped, and filed by hand.
Every page of the text block was individually stained with coffee, giving the paper a muted, time-worn warmth. Hand-marbled endpapers in violet, black, and silver frame the interior like drifting ink. The edge glow — a ring of phosphorescent pigment — completes the sentinel’s vigil.
A singular piece.
The first Arcana.
Moon Priestess Grimoire
Moon Priestess Grimoire
2024 – Commission
Forged only under the light of three consecutive full-moon nights, the Moon-Priestess Grimoire was created as a vessel for ritual, lineage, and lunar devotion.
Its heart is the keeper’s own diadem — a triple-moon crown sent into the atelier to be laid into the cover as both symbol and anchor.
The central panel is built from three layers of board, carved into an oval window filled with deep blue suede. Within this aperture rests a silver Yggdrasil, sculpted in raised paste, its roots and branches interwoven with a small metal pentagram at the core. Two hand-painted familiars accompany the tree: a silver owl and a blue wolf, illustrated on pearl paper so they shimmer like breath in winter air.
All four corners carry recessed metal ornaments, set flush into the cover to follow the geometry of the design. The tome is wrapped in dark blue leather and secured with a custom-forged clasp — the hasp and hinge shaped by hand from aluminium and hammered wire, set directly into the board for strength.
Inside, English hand-marbled endpapers frame the book’s interior in tones of deep ink and stone. Hidden beneath the leather of the spine lies a strand of the keeper’s own hair, bound permanently into the structure so that the grimoire remains tied to its priestess — magically, ritually, and by craft.
This artefact was made entirely after sunset, shielded from daylight until completion.

The Wheel of the Year Tome Set
The Wheel of the Year Tome Set
2024 – Commission
A complete eight-volume tome set crafted as a companion for the turning of the seasons. Each book, bound to one of the eight Sabbats, was designed to be carried into the wild — durable, compact, and rooted in ritual purpose.
Each volume measures 10×14 cm and pairs reclaimed leather with open-weave bookcloth: a third of the cover shaped from naturally edged hide, chosen in colours that echo the festival it belongs to, and the remainder wrapped in sturdy linen. The covers are illustrated by hand in UV-resistant artist pigments, sealed for outdoor use, and embellished with gold or silver leaf — suns for the solar rites, moons for the nocturnal ones.
Inside, each tome holds creamy 120 gsm drawing paper, ready for chants, invocations, reflections, or field notes. Every volume carries its own hand-marbled endpapers, created in calm, deliberate patterns using traditional combing techniques, and finished with a colour-matched ribbon marker.
The set is housed within a bespoke ritual box. Its exterior combines leather fibre and linen; the lid bears a fully embossed and gilded Wheel of the Year crafted from layered materials, while the interior is lined in hand-marbled papers chosen to mirror the cycle contained within.
A singular commissioned artefact — created once, and only once.
The Sylvan Tigereye Journal
The Sylvan Tigereye Journal
2022 – Sold
Bound in deep woodland brown and crowned with a polished tigereye cabochon, this journal carries the quiet opulence of elven craft.
A hand-cast resin inlay fills the central diamond—encasing shimmering green pigment and small tumbled crystals of clear quartz. Gold embossing frames the piece, joined by ornamental studs and filigree corner motifs that echo ancient metalwork.
The bookblock is stitched on cords and filled with heavy brown artist’s kraft paper, its deckled edges giving each page a soft, tactile irregularity. Hand-sewn endbands in green and gold finish the spine, while English hand-marbled endpapers in verdant green, gold, and pale frost introduce the interior with the subtle energy of moving water.
A hidden folded pocket rests at the back of the tome, designed to hold small findings, notes, or pressed leaves. The green ribbon marker anchors the palette and completes the piece with clarity and restraint.
A singular artefact.
